On Saturday, May 4th a group of 12 youth and 3
adults gathered to brave the cold conditions to experience what it is like to
be homeless. During our 1st
annual, Box City event, our group packed 5,400 meals for Kids Against Hunger,
raised $110 in donations to the Maryland Living Center, and donated 19 cans of
food to the Adams County food bank. We
also spent time in devotion and worship to learn about our mission to those who
are hungry and homeless.
During the
Go & Serve trip to Los Angeles this summer, our group will be working
closely with the homeless population of downtown LA. I think that this was a great way for our
youth to get a little taste of what it might be like to be homeless. A huge thank you to those who came out for
the event and to all those who helped make the event possible! Check out the pictures of the event in the
slideshow to the right.
God Bless,
Justin Miller
